You Am I legend Davey Lane will direct a one-off tribute to the great George Martin, bringing together Melbourne’s rock royalty in “The Fifth Beatle – A Celebration” on Friday, July 15 at the Corner Hotel.
Performing selected songs from George Martin’s era with The Beatles, Glenn Shorrock joins the guest lead vocalists, paying tribute to the man who not only produced The Beatles and was known as “the fifth Beatle”, but also produced Little River Band’s sixth studio album, “Time Exposure” in 1981.
The band line-up is: Davey Lane – Guitar and vocals, Ashley Naylor – Guitar and vocals, Stephen Hadley – bass, James Fleming – Keyboards, Matt Cotter and Brett Wolfenden – Drums, guest lead vocalists – Glenn Shorrock, Linda Bull, Link Meanie, Ross McLellan, Ashley Naylor and Davey Lane.
George Martin’s influence on pop and rock music over the decades is profound. In this spectacular show, expect to hear hits like Please Please Me, A Hard Day’s Night, You’re Gonna Lose That Girl, Hey Jude, While My Guitar Gently Weeps and more.
