Ashton is a dynamite performer incorporating foot percussion with his hybrid guitar/bass style and sounds like a full band. His choice of guitars include a 1930 National steel guitar, a lap slide made for him in the USA by Ben Harper’s luthier Bill Asher and up to six other instruments onstage on any given night including his signature guitar made by Italian company Liutart.
