We were lucky to meet the talented Freyja through a few gigs we shared performing with RACKETT. Not only is she a lovely human being, but holy hell can she shred keys. On top of that, she composes beautiful music and surrounds herself with equally impressive players who are joining her on the night. This one is going to be a feast for the ears.
Ali Barter - The Lansdowne Hotel Sydney - April 11
We've been fans of Ali for a long time, and we were lucky enough to hear a sneak peek of some of her new songs at a live gig she did supporting Liz Phair recently. She's a killer musician with an honest message, and we can't wait to see her unleash her new material. Supporting her are a couple of fave local bands Sunscreen and Good Pash too, so it's going to be an awesome night!!
Larkin Poe - Oxford Art Factory - April 22
Sisters who seriously shred - one on a Jazzmaster, the other on a Rickenbacker lap steel. And they have pipes for days. We'll walk out with melted faces and a hint of jealousy.
FKA Twigs - Carriageworks - June 9
FKA Twigs is doing a one-off show for Vivid and we are super excited to catch her live. We can't wait to see those dance moves and experience how she translates her electronica into a live show. We'll be attempting to take a lot of notes in an atmosphere swirling with endorphins.
