There is so much on this weekend! I can hardly choose! Damn you Melbourne. There are two massive local festivals which are pretty much dominating this weekend with, Poison City Weekender from Thursday to Sunday over 6 venues! Then Electric Goner Boogie at the Tote all day Saturday and Sunday. Plus we got Northeast Party House, The Do Yo Things, Water Bear, Hideous Sun Demon, Milwaukee Banks, The Tony Giants and The Fabric!
Poison City Weekender is on (Thursday/Friday/Saturday/Sunday at Curtin/Corner/Max Watts/Old Bar/ Reverence) All the line ups have excellent people... so any of those gigs are good ones. More info here
Thursday I am headed to The Do Yo Things (pictured) who's sensual soul will keep you happy. They play the Gaso with WILSN supporting (she has a great voice), the gig upstairs at the Gaso also looks sweet (Water Bear)... I may run between the two...Info here
Friday - I'm headed to Northeast Party House to dance with the Triple J crowd but Hideous Sun Demon look like actual crazy fun and they play the Gaso. 2AM show at Yah Yahs - Milwaukee Banks FYI because when you haven't seen enough gigs already a 2am one sounds ace.
Saturday - The Tiny Giants are playing Yah Yahs I like these little guys. They have a killer garage psych sound which is worth catching. I also like the sound of their supports Gonzo and Floyd Cox. Info here
Saturday or Sunday or both - I will be at Electric Goner Boogie at the Tote (it has a wonderful line up including Bitch Prefect / Digger & the Pussycats / Hierophants / Low Life / The Only Boys / The Pink Tiles / Scott & Charlene's Wedding / The Stevens / Straight Arrows / Terrible Truths... and more. It’s gonna be nuts!
Then I will be asleep Monday.
Tuesday - The Fabric have a residency at the Grace Darling... I don't know much about them but the one song I've heard makes me want to check them out. They sound like big band jazzy soul. Very nice. Deets here!
