Hot Gigs and Hot Tips - 20 July 2016

 

With Splendour sideshows aplenty we thought we’d give you a few recommendations to make the selection process a little easier.

The Kills

The Kills are playing a one off show at The Forum on Saturday 23 July with support from local legends Cable Ties. This visit to Australia marks their first tour here since 2011. Needless to say we’re super keen to see Alison Mosshart and Jamie Hince in action.

 

Leon Bridges

Blues rock superstar Leon Bridges takes to The Forum for a two night stint on Tuesday 19 July and Wednesday 20 July with support from the incredible Ngaiire. Promising to deliver an unbelievable show, Bridges has become one of the most praised musicians in the world and it’s time for Australia to once again lap up his talent.

 

 

Fat White Family

Fat White Family are also giving fans two opportunities to see them play, choosing teeny tiny venues for their Australian debut. Catch them on Sunday 24 July at Yah Yah’s and Monday 25 July at Cherry Bar for what is sure to be a wild time. 

 

 

The Pretty Littles

The Pretty Littles are a pack of undisputed legends and to celebrate the release of their upcoming album Soft Rock For The Anxious they’re hitting the road. The play the Northcote Social Club on Saturday 29 October and if their live shows are anything to go by this will be a huge gig. 

 

 

The John Steel Singers

Brisbane outfit The John Steel Singers return to Melbourne for a show in support of their new album Midnight at the Plutonium with a show at the Northcote Social Club on Saturday 27 August. Supporting them for the tour is the mega hyped, mega talented Alex Lahey. Write it in your diary and get down for what’s guaranteed to be a gig full of good vibes.

 

Northeast Party House

Dancer rockers Northeast Party House hit up 170 Russell on Friday 9 September for a show not to be missed in the lead up to their new album Dare. Word on the street is that it’s already selling fast so get your tickets now to avoid disappointment.
