This week

The Community Cup is a footy match and festival and charity event all in one. Support the Rockdogs made up of Melbourne musicians or the Megahertz made up of Triple R and PBS presenters. It’s not great footy, but it is what’s great about footy. Rys Mudoon from playschool with Kram backing him up play early on for the little kids, while Loose Tooth, The Sugarcanes and Total Giovanni play for the slightly older kids. Then for the older kids still Regurgitator end the day in glory. What’s not to like about that! All proceeds to towards building sporting and arts programs to help disadvantages and most vulnerable in the community.

This Thursday night is the regular soul night at Cherry featuring soul DJ masters Vince Peach and Richie 1250. But this is an extra special night where Melbourne favourite soul band, The Bamboos celebrate their 10th anniversary with singer Kylie Auldist! They don’t do little shows like this anymore so this intimate event will be super excellent! Buy a ticket as they will likely sell out!

A day on the green with 90s heroes, Something for kate, You am I, Spiderbait, Jebediah, and The Meanies! Though usually the bands you’d see in a dirty pub throughout the 90s and 00s clearly someone thinks it’s time to appreciate the rock over a shardy or two. See them at 2 Victorian wineries, Mt Duneed Estate and Rochford wines on the 12th and 13th of November.
