I have photographed over a thousands bands over the decades but there is nothing like the sheer exhilaration of actually capturing KISS in your pesky little viewfinder. They are the ultimate pure high octane rock'n'roll band to photograph, with lots of pyro, explosions, balloons, flying stunts and over-the-top theatrics. Unfortunately, this will be the last time, as KISS are on their End Of Road World Tour.
They have two more shows here at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne Rock Central. One more on Sunday the 21st of August and the second on Tuesday the 23rd of August. Afterward, KISS are playing shows in Sydney, Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane and on the sunny Gold Coast. I could give you a set list but I rather not spoil the fun but I will say that they played the Aussie favourite power ballad, Shandi. True to form of KISS's famous catchphrase, "You Wanted the Best, You Got the Best!!"
The hardest working band from Croydon, Dead City Ruins were tonight's support and they totally rocked. They are dropping their new album Shockwave next month and they plays some selective cuts. I really loved their new song, "Speed Machine".
