The legendary Lime Spiders return to celebrate their 40th anniversary with these all too rare shows. The last time they played Melbourne, the iconic band were a part of the Monster Session lineup that played at The Espy in 2011.
How bloody great were the Lime Spiders albums back in the day with The Cave Comes Alive!, Volatile, Beethoven's Fist and the compilation, Headcleaner? So it was excellent to hear live renditions of "My Favourite Room", "Volatile", "Just One Solution", "Weirdo Libido", "Jessica", "Slave Girl", along with a blistering cover of "Stone Free" by Jimi Hendrix.
After a forced hiatus due to some life threatening issues, founding member Mick Blood has assembled a killer new line up which includes Floyd Jones on lead guitar, Clint Mahoney on bass and Paul Mulrainey on drums, who has played with Blue Aeroplane, Jazz Butcher & Primal Scream.
Once described in Rolling Stone magazine as being 'The Sex Pistols On Acid', the Lime Spiders compelling high energy sonic tonic will kick start your summer and set the tone for an uplifting music festival season.
Support on the night, were provided by The Sunday Reeds and Badgers.
UPDATE! See above for a HD Video of Lime Spiders performing 'Slave Girl'.
