Over two performance over the same day, the Melbourne Mass Gospel Choir celebrated the uplifting songs of The Staple Singers. One of the iconic families of gospel, civil rights and pop music, The Staple Singers gave us classic songs like 'Respect Yourself', 'Freedom Highway' and 'I'll Take You There'.
It was a time to rejoice with over 60 voices singing their souls outs with the joyous foot stompin’, hand clappin’ black gospel music of the south. The choir was so large, it was the first time I have seen the band relategated to the side of the stage.
