It has been a long time since Midnight Oil has played in Melbourne. They were a part of the Sound Relief benefit concert at the MCG in 2009. I only remember it so well because I was allocated to photograph it but I had my camera shutter box break down the week before the concert, so I missed out.
So with great pleasure I was able to photograph the Oils on their successful Great Circle Tour, eight years later. They banged out the hits from Power And The Passion, Beds Are Burning, US Forces to some obscure gems in their back catalogue like Section 5 (Bus To Bondi). It was two hours of bliss from one of Australia's most loved rock bands in Melbourne's most picturesque outdoor venue, the Sidney Myer Music Bowl.
