It was the largest A Day On The Green concert ever at Mt Duneed Estate in Geelong when Robbie Williams performed his Heavy Entertainment Show for 20,000 adoring fans.
Entertaining it certainly was, as Robbie banged out the bangers from 'Rock DJ', 'Angels', 'Kids', 'Come Undone', 'Let Me Entertain You' and more. On stage he boxed with six scantily clad dancers, flashed his jocks with a roaring tiger head and he even got a lucky starstuck fan up on stage to be serenaded, as he performed 'Something Stupid'. There was a singalong with a cover of Men At Work's 'Down Under', followed by the Frank Sinatra's classic 'My Way' and a bunch of medleys. No wonder Robbie has sold out two Rod Laver Arena shows, as well as another winery concert at Rochford Winery the week before. Melbourne just can't get enough Robbie Williams.
Australian funk and soul band, The Bamboos, got the hill up jumping and dancing with their upbeat infectious groove. It was so lovely to see the undisputed queen of Melbourne's soul Kylie Auldist soaring on stage with this energetic nine piece led by bandleader, Lance Ferguson.
