Darwin’s Comedy Queen AMY HETHERINGTON is bringing unique tropical chaos with second solo show at this year Melobourne International Comedy Festival called WHERE THEY HIDE THE CRAZY. Her new show comes hot off the back of sold out runs in Darwin and acclaimed shows at the Darwin Festival, Adelaide Fringe Festival, Perth’s Fringe World and last years Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Hetherington’s quirky Territorian brand of humour saw her rise to be a RAW Comedy Finalist and supports with Fiona O’Loughlin, Glenn Robbins, Jimoen, Greg Fleet and Steve-O from MTV’s, Jackass.
Pedestrian called her show “A mixture of cheekiness and cheeriness. A little bit Celia Pacquola-ish. Very good!”
And The Adelaide Advertiser said her show was “Lighthearted and witty, Amy’s storytelling is on point. Check her out for a positively funny time.”
She gives us her top picks of the comedy fest you shouldn’t miss!
What are my top comedy picks? Tricky question... given I'm from the NT and not many acts tour up there, I don't want to miss anything at MICF. But these are the 5 I'm definitely going to... support them emerging Aussie acts people!

Kirsty Webeck: Chipper
Kirsty and I did an week long NT tour in the desert and didn't kill each other. She is delightful. A radiant ball of sunshine and wit and fun. She should be on TV already!

Lewis Garnham: You Can't Always Get What You Want
This kid is a genius. So smart, so chilled and so surprising. He was nominated for best newcomer last year and a bunch of other well-deserved awards. It's going to be a super reflective, maybe bleak, but hilarious show. Don't miss it!

Get Sweaty with Cheryl and Chardee
Is there a better export from South Australia then a pair of 1980s aerobics enthusiastic who drink a lot of white wine? Yeah I didn't think so! These ladies and absurd and empowering and hilarious and shiny!

Emily Tresidder: Just Doing It
Watching Emily do comedy you can't help but think... geez I wish you were my best friend. She's independent and sassy and fiery and on point. I can't wait to see this show after seeing her in 2017... come sit next to me and fan girl with me!

Bart Freebairn: Believe in Yourself
I doubt Bart knows who I am but I'm a massive fan and like all of his social media posts. I saw his show a few years ago and find myself quoting him all the time. Epically relatable, incredible controlled and just 'mwah' *kisses air in appreciation.
