SOOOOO much going on this month in Melbourne , here’s a selection of the some of the best gigs happening this month 

Across The Punt 4th March : Lulie’s Tavern and The Gem Bar have teamed up to bring Across The Punt to the masses, all bands will be playing at both venues, so if you want to hang out at one all day that’s cool, or if you’re up for a wander, you can do that to, both places are about a 10 min walk from each other ( Across Punt Road ) 

Cold Irons Bound ( Single Launch )  The Golden Rail Saturday 11th March 

Both these bands have been playing around together quite a bit lately, both sides of the river, George Lane is a beautiful intimate venue that people may not know about , Cold Irons Bound will be launching their new single I Wasn’t Thinking At All ‘ . 

Tracy Miller Shotkickers , Every Wednesday in March 

Tracy’s a well known member in jazz and soul scene in Melbourne, so she’ll be bringing her stunning music to Shotkickers for every Wednesday in March and she’ll be bringing a bunch of her mates along for the ride also, Tracy will be launching her single Broken Line which was inspired by the Wind Phone in Japan, the wind phone was a artistic device that was created Itaro Sasaki, it was devised after the 2011 earthquake and tsunami , the device was available to the public so they could have a one way conversations with friends and family that had passed away, support acts will be Boof ( Jody Bell ) Alma Zygier , Laneous, Kylie Auldist, Don’t Thank Me, Spank Me. 

Buddhadatta The Beast, 30th March 

Japan’s Buddhadatta will be touring Australia for the very first time and they will be ripping the roof of The Beast, Buddhadatta call themselves ‘Buddhist Punx , they are collective of some the finest Japanese punk bands,  such as Acid Mothers Temple, SS and Continental Kids, they will be playing Sydney and Adelaide fringe festivals then dropping into Melbourne afterwards, this is a free gig, so don’t miss out ! 

The Good, The Bad and The Lonely,  26th March , Memo Music Hall

Triple album launch from three of Melbourne’s finest Americana artist, Duncan Phillips, Stefanie Duzel  and Matt Joe Gow will all be launching new material and the ever wonderful Kerryn Fields will be MC’ing , Duncan will be launching his single ‘ Home on a Saturday Night, Stefanie will be opening the show with her debut effort The Other Side’ and Matt Joe Gow will be launching his new album Between Tonight & Tomorrow , The Memo , this will be an afternoon gig, so you can retire early for a Sunday. 

Whale Called Phoenix March 5th Union Hotel, Brunswick

Jimmy Phoenix’s outfit will be kicking up a storm at The Union starting at 330 , always guaranteed a good time.
