There is no shortage of great gigs happening this week! Our favourite genre hopping happy feelings band, Dorsal Fins hit the Gaso on Thursday night releasing their 7inch single. Album number 2 is coming out so this limited release is the first taste of it.
The Gaso is killing it this week with droney, garage pop of Loose Toothreleasing their anticipated EP on Friday night. Joining them is a stellar lineup of Melbourne's power popsters. Not to be missed!
Then this Saturday get wooed gently, or loudly as may be the case, as women of soul belt it out at Bella Union with 2 killer sets and a ensemble of Melbournes best soul voices. 2 sets with DJ Lyndelle Wilkinson from PBS radio will keep you grooving till late.
Robert Forster will be playing the National Gallery of Victoria on Saturday to celebrate the last weekend of the hugely popular Andy Warhol/Ai Weiwei exhibition.
And Eleanor Friedberger ex Fiery Furnaces has just been announced for an Australian tour playing Melbournes Toff in Town June 18. With over 10 years in the Fiery’s and up to her 3rd solo album she undertaken a multitude of other creative endeavour’s including has scoring an unseen film of Andy Warhol. This intimate venue is with her band and will delight new fans and old.
And the hot ticket in town is Tash Sultana who has sold out 2 Northcote Social Club shows already with a 3rd just added on the 10th of May. The roots reggae/folk songstress has been honing her skills since the age of 3 and has clearly building a huge following. Get down!
