Slowly Slowly pick the gigs they wouldn't miss

Slowly Slowly are a post punk pop band who have been smashing it out lately with the release of their latest few singles lifted from their debut album coming soon. If you’re into Jimmy Eat World, Built to Spill and Violent Soho you’ll love what these guys do.

We had a chat to Ben Stewart ahead of a solo show he’s doing at the Old bar, May 14th about what shows coming up he’s getting excited to seeing. Strap on in, cause these are his picks of the month!

Art Vs Music 3 @ The Grace Darling April 29

This show is run by a collective called Art Vs Music who pit artists against musicians for a huge night of creativity and sing alongs.

The Pretty Littles @ Shebeen May 7th

I used to live next door to Jack from The Pretty Littles and man they are a tight band full of dudes who are fun to party with. I'll be there with bells on singing all the words to their 2 new tunes.

Pinch Hitter, Meridian, Jess Locke Band + Lincoln le Fevre @ The Old Bar May 14th

This show is going to be huge. 4 of my favourite artists on the same bill! I am playing acoustically at Old Bar in the arvo so if you come to this show there is a 110% chance I will be hanging from da chandelier come time this show kicks off.

Tired Lion + The Hard Aches @ The NSC 19th of May

I love the whole band BUT Ethan from Tired Lion is one of my favourite drummers ever. Ill be watching him in awe and then getting super drunk and singing along to all my favourites like Desperate and Suck. I am a big fan of The Hard Aches too and Ben David is one of the nicest guys going around! Double whammy.

The Smith Street Band + Luca Brasi @ Max Watts June 16th/17th

I will be at both these shows and god dammit I love both these bands more than anything. Good honest people making such inspiring music that brings together a great mix of people from all around the country.

Check out Ben from Slowly Slowly do a rare acoustic solo set at Bar Open Sat arvo on the 20th of May
